Dead links are gone. Blogroll is updated. And a new feature installed: a linkblog using del.icio.us (For the best linkblog in the 'sphere, check out Martin Kramer's at his blog Sandbox).
So what prompted the return? Two things: Free time and Charles Johnson.
The job that necessitated the hiatus ended a little over a week ago and I really couldn't find the inspiration to get back in front of the keyboard. I was content to sit back and watch other bloggers cover the Israel/Hizbollah war via my feed reader. You all were doing such an excellent job, what could one more blog jockey possibly contribute?
That mindset changed on Saturday with The Post at Little Green Footballs and the subsequent blogswarm on Reuters.
Yes, it was Charles' scoop. But the lone blogger is easy to swat away. His or her keyboard produces only a faint, slightly irritating buzz. A swarm of bloggers, on the other hand, is something altogether different. A low, solitary drone becomes a deafening, multitudinoushum to which attention must be paid.
That our power lies in our numbers, dear bloggers, is something the alphabet city blogger had forgotten and had to learn anew. Posted
